Basic operation 2-6
The offset is a very important parameter for a drag knife. The offset is the distance between the knife
centre and the knife tip.
NOTE: The knife offset should be set each time the knife is changed and should
be checked when the knife shows signs of wear.
NOTE: A typical knife offset for Summa knives is between 0.41 and 0.45 for
standard knives, between 0.90 and 0.97 for sandblast knives and between 0.49
and 0.52 for the 60° knife.
NOTE: Sandblast knives should be used when the material that needs to be cut
is thicker than 0.25 mm.
Changing knife offset:
1. Power on the cutter and load the media (see section 1.5).
2. Tap .
3. Tap Knife offset.
4. Use the arrow keys or the
numbers to change the
value.
1. Tap to perform the internal knife offset test.
2. Tap to confirm the chosen knife offset.
3. Tap to leave the knife offset unchanged.
Once is tapped, the current knife offset value is automatically set to the new value and the
cutter will cut the test pattern.
