1. Ex. manifold temp. sensor
Step Action Yes No
1 1) With the ignition switch “OFF”, disconnect the Ex.
Manifold Temp sensor connector.
2) With the ignition switch “ON”, check the voltage at the
“V/W” wire terminal of the Ex. Manifold Temp. sensor
connector.
Is the voltage 4 V or more?
Go to step 2. • “V/W” wire shorted to
“B/W” wire or ground
circuit.
• If the wiring is OK,
substitute a known-
good ECM and
recheck.
2 1) Check the Ex. Manifold Temp. sensor.
Refer to “Ex. Manifold Temp. Sensor Inspection” in
Section 1C (Page 1C-9).
Is it in good condition?
Poor Ex. Manifold
Temp. sensor
connection, intermittent
trouble or a faulty ECM
may be the cause.
Faulty Ex. manifold
temp sensor.
