• Set the main switch to “ON”.
• Set the turn signal switch to “L” or “R”.
• Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) of the cho-
colate or dark green 2 at the turn signal
light connector (wire harness side).
• Is the voltage within specification?

4. The oil level warning light fails to come on.
1. Oil level warning light bulb and socket
• Check the oil level warning light bulb and
socket for continuity.
Refer to “CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS”
• Are the oil level warning light bulb and soc-
ket OK?
2. Engine oil level switch
• Drain the engine oil and remove the engine
oil level switch from the oil pan.
• Check the engine oil level switch for conti-
nuity.
Refer to “CHECKING THE SWITCHES”.
• Is the engine oil level switch OK?
3. Voltage
• Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
meter coupler (wire harness side) as
shown.
Positive tester probe
green/yellow
Negative tester probe
black
• Set the main switch to “ON”.
• Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) of
green/yellow and black at the meter
coupler.
• Is the voltage within specification?

5. The fuel level gauge fails to operate.
1. Fuel sender
• Remove the fuel sender from the fuel tank.
• Connect the pocket tester to the fuel sen-
der coupler (wire harness side) as shown.

This circuit is OK.
Replace the oil level
warning light bulb,
socket or both.
Replace the engine
oil level switch.
