CDP-Compatible LLDP Configuration Example
Network requirements
As shown in Figure 1-22, port GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 and GigabitEthernet 1/0/2 of Switch A are each
connected to a Cisco IP phone.
On Switch A configure VLAN 2 as a voice VLAN and configure CDP-compatible LLDP to enable the
Cisco IP phones to automatically configure the voice VLAN, thus confining their voice traffic within the
voice VLAN to be separate from other types of traffic.

Configuration procedure
# Create VLAN 2.
z Select Network > VLAN from the navigation bar and click Create to enter the page for creating
VLANs shown in
Figure 1-23.

z Type 2 in the VLAN IDs field.
z Click Create.
# Configure GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 and GigabitEthernet 1/0/2 as trunk ports.
z Select Device > Port Management from the navigation bar and click the Setup tab to enter the
page for configuring ports as shown in
Figure 1-24.
