WARNING: Do not immerse oxygen sensor in liquid. Do not conduct autoclave or high
temperature fumigation on oxygen sensor.
WARNING: Do not clean the inner surface of oxygen sensor. Wipe oxygen sensor
exterior with a damp cloth.
7.4.2.2. Assembly
Inspect the oxygen sensor for damage and replace as necessary. Re-insert the oxygen sensor.
7.4.3. Disassemble the respiratory valves
The following procedure is written generically for a single, unspecified valve. It should apply to
both the inspiration and expiration valves.
7.4.3.1. Disassembly
CAUTION: It is not necessary to remove the valve nut, the valve cover, the valve cage
or the valve disc to clean them. However, if removal is desired, follow the procedure
below.
CAUTION: The valve disc is fragile and must, therefore, be handled with care when
removing it from the valve cage.
Remove the valve nut, valve cover, valve cage and
valve disc from the inspiratory valve.
7.4.3.2. Assembly
Reassemble the valve components in the reverse order, noting any previously stated CAUTION.
After installation, check air tightness of inspiratory and expiratory valve and movement of valve
disc.
