5.6. Ventilation mode setting
5.6.1. Ventilation mode introduction
The system has seven ventilation modes:
Manual: Manual ventilation
IPPV: Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation
PCV: Pressure Controlled Ventilation
SIMV-VC: Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation Mandatory Ventilation with
Volume control
PS/CPAP: Pressure Support Ventilation/Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
SIMV-PC: Synchronous Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation with Pressure Control
PCV-VG: Pressure Control Ventilation with Volume Guaranteed
SIMV-VG: Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation with VG control
BIVENT: Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure Ventilation
APRV: Airway Pressure Release Ventilation
In addition, Standby mode is available. In Standby mode, mechanical ventilation cannot be carried
out and there are no ventilation waveforms or monitoring values.
5.6.1.1. Manual Ventilation (Manual)
Perform the Manual ventilation by squeezing the breathing bag. The ventilation waveforms and
monitoring values are on the screen.
5.6.1.2. Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (IPPV)
The ventilation modes are not self-switched and are provided by the ventilation system of the
Anaesthetic Workstation. Manage ventilation according to the preset ventilation volume,
respiratory rate, and breathing ratio to ensure the constant tidal volume and ensure fixed minute
ventilation.
Method: time switch and pressure switch.
IPPV mode setup parameters:
Tidal volume (V
T
): 20300mL (child), 201500mL (adult), 101500(adult optional);
