4.9.3 Furrow former and catch roller
Together with the catch roller

, the furrow former

represents a central functional unit in the coulter.
The furrow former shapes the seed furrow. The shot
channel guides the seed grain into the seed furrow.
For better soil contact, the catch roller presses the
seed grain into the bottom of the furrow.
The furrow former and the catch roller must be
adapted to the operating conditions.
