5.6 - READOUT MODES
The Readout Modes available from the Setup Acquisition dialog box let you use the CCD chip at the heart of
the camera to collect/readout data. The options available are as follows:
Image
Multi-track
Full Vertical Binning (FVB)
The Binning patterns used in each readout mode are as follows:
Binning is a process that allows charge from two or more pixels to be combined on the CCD-chip prior to
readout. For a full explanation of binning please go to pages 156 - 158.
NOTE: The examples given in this manual to illustrate the use of binning patterns are based on a
CCD207-10 chip with 1600 x 400 pixels, each pixel measuring 16
µ
m
