15 Operating the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler
This section provides detailed instructions on how to operate the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler.
In general, the material in this section is organized in the order of use.
A typical daily operation includes the following tasks Figure 15-1 illustrates a typical laboratory
workflow. Following each step is a reference to the heading and page that explains how to
perform that task.
1 Prepare slides for automated screening. (Section 15.2)
2 Load slides into the trays. (Section 15.3)
3 Load (and unload) trays into the instrument. (Section 15.4)
4 Monitor the status of slides during processing. (Section 15.5)
5 Print all reports. (Section 15.6)
6 Analyze reports. (Section 15.7)
7 Screen and re-screen slides as required. (Section 15.9)
8 Make sure that daily backups of the slide results data are performed. (Section 15.11)
Tasks performed less frequently include:
• Reprinting reports. (Section 15.10)
• Shutting down or restarting the instrument. (Section 15.12)
• Restarting the System. (Section 15.13)
