19.1.1 Pre-Installation
Before installing a BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler, a BD-designated service representative
performs an inspection of your facility during which any necessary modifications to the facilities,
such as the installation of dedicated power and/or telephone lines, are identified. This
representative will also obtain a copy of your staining protocol and general information about
your cytology laboratory processes and procedures for analysis and reference. Figure 19-2
illustrates the activities that take place during the pre-installation phase.
