7.1.2 Transferring Data
When the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler completes its slide processing, slides are designated
either Review, Process Review, or Rerun. For slides in the review category, the
BD FocalPoint™ GS Review Station is used to evaluate the slide data.
To transfer BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler data
To transfer slide data from the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler to the BD FocalPoint™ Server, the
copy service application can be set for Manual transfer or it can be set to run automatically.
Automatic data transfer The copy service application is configured to transfer data from the
BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler to the BD FocalPoint™ GS Server.
Manual data transfer A second option is to disable automatic data transfer and run the copy
service manually.
To run the copy service application:
1 Double-click the FocalPoint™ GS Copy Service shortcut on the desktop of the
BD FocalPoint™ GS Server.
2 Slide data for all print sets run on the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler, but not yet downloaded,
is copied to the BD FocalPoint™ GS Server. Once copied, slide data is ready to review.
NOTE
Only the BD FocalPoint™ GS Server (not the client workstations)
has access to the copy service application.
CAUTION
When the server is configured for automatic data transfer, do not
perform a manual data transfer.
CAUTION
Your images are stored on the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler for
10 days. Your copy service settings should be set to less than
10 day intervals.
