7 Managing the BD FocalPoint™ GS Review
Station Server
This section discusses the flow of data into and out of the BD FocalPoint™ GS Server. Two
utilities manage this process: Copy Service and Archive.
• The Copy Service transfers data to the BD FocalPoint™ GS Server.
• The Archive utility transfers data to a separate directory location on the BD FocalPoint™ GS
Server. This archive data is read only. The Archive utility also provides the option of moving
the data onto backup media.
7.1 Copy Service Basics
The following discussion provides details about how to use the BD FocalPoint™ GS Copy
Service application (referred to as the copy service) to acquire slide data from the
BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler. The information in this section is addressed to the lab
administrator. For the cytotechnologist screening slides on the BD FocalPoint™ GS Review
Station, data transfer should be a transparent process.
