Threading the Triple Needle
To thread a triple needle, thread the three threads one
after the other according to the instructions for the
single needle. Start with the left needle. [}see
page34]
Note the following differences:
Prerequisite:
n A foam pad is attached to each of the vertical spool
pins.
1. Place the spool for the left needle on the left spool
pin, the spool for the center needle on the center
spool pin and the spool for the right needle on the
right spool pin.
2. Guide the threads up to the needle in the same
way as threading the single needle.
3. At the thread tension disc, guide the thread for the
left needle down to the left and the threads for the
right and center needle down to the right of the
thread tension disc.
4. Guide the threads up to the needle in the same
way as threading the single needle.
5. Thread all needles by hand.
Threading Special Threads
Special threads such as loosely twined threads and
metallic threads can be difficult to thread and use. The
Thread Lubrication Unit and the special silicone fluid
prevent delicate threads from tearing or breaking and
making them easier to use.
1. Insert the Thread Lubrication Unit in the opening
provided and moisten the felt surfaces with a little
silicone fluid.
2. Insert the thread between the felt surfaces of the
Thread Lubrication Unit.
3. Guide the thread to the needle in the same way as
threading the single needle. [}see page34]
4. Thread the needle by hand.
Using the Horizontal Spool Pin
On the horizontal spool pin, a foam pad and a spool
cap ensure that the thread is unwound properly. The
foam pad prevents the spool from rotating too quickly.
The spool cap ensures that the spool pin is held in place
and the thread is unwound from the spool without
becoming tangled. Spool caps are available in different
sizes.

1. Place the foam pad on the spool pin.
2. Place the thread spool on the spool pin.
3. Select a spool cap with the same diameter as the
spool and place it on the spool pin. The spool
should not rotate. The thread should unwind
properly.
