WiFi Connection
You can connect the machine to a WiFi network. This
allows you to transfer embroidery designs from the
BERNINA Embroidery Software onto the machine, to
track the progress of the stitching on the BERNINA
Stitchout App or display content from the Help Center
on a tablet.
With the WiFi Connection setting, you can switch the
WiFi connection on and off. The machine indicates the
network to which it is connected.
All available networks are displayed in the Available
Networks list. You can connect the machine to any
available network. In the case of protected networks,
you must sign in with a password.
Once you have set up the WiFi connection once, you
can switch the WiFi connection on and off in the Status
Bar.

Upper Thread Tension
The upper thread tension is set optimally at the
BERNINA factory. Mettler Metrosene/Serlon thread size
100/2 is used for the upper and bobbin thread.
If you use different types of sewing threads, the upper
thread tension may vary. You can override the default
setting based on thread and fabric you are using in the
Upper Thread Tension in the Sewing Settings. This
modification is made to all sewing patterns and kept
until changed again in the Settings, even after a
machine restart.
The higher the upper thread tension is set, the tighter
the upper thread is tensioned, and the bobbin thread is
pulled deeper into the fabric. The lower the setting the
lower the upper thread is tensioned, and the bobbin
thread is pulled less deeply into the fabric.
TIP
If the sewing test shows that the upper thread
tension is not optimal for a stitch pattern, you can
modify the upper thread tension for the selected
stitch pattern using the Upper Thread Tension
function in the Status Bar.

Sewing Speed
The sewing speed is specified in stitches per minute.
The maximum sewing speed is 1200stitches per
minute.
With the Sewing Speed function, you can limit the
maximum sewing speed. The setting is saved when the
machine is switched off.

Securing Stitches
With the Securing Stitches function, you can set
whether securing stitches should be sewn automatically
upon starting sewing.
Presser Foot Hover Position

Presser Foot Hover Position
With the Presser Foot Hover Position function, you
can set how high the presser foot is raised when the
machine stops with the needle position down. The
following options are available:
n Low: The presser foot remains lowered.
n Medium: The presser foot is raised to a medium
height.
n High: The presser foot is raised.
