4. Stop the left bead at the height of the first stitch
and press the Quick Reverse
button.
ð The machine sews the upper bartack.
ð The lengths of the beads are saved.
ð All additional buttonholes are sewn with the
saved count of stitches.
ð The buttonhole length remains saved until it is
overwritten, cleared or the machine is switched
off.

Sew Manually
With the Sew Manually function, you can sew
buttonholes segment by segment. The individual
segments of the buttonhole are displayed in the
Buttonhole bar. Every time you have sewn a segment,
you can move to the next segment by pressing the
Quick Reverse
button.
Prerequisite:
n A buttonhole is loaded.
n Buttonhole Foot#3C is attached.
1. Tap the Sew Manually
icon.
ð The individual segments are displayed in the
Buttonhole bar.
ð Segment1 is active.
2. Sew the left buttonhole bead and stop the machine
at the desired length.
ð Segment2 is active during sewing.
3. To switch to the next segment, tap the Quick
Reverse
button or stop the machine and select
the next segment in the buttonhole bar.
4. Finish sewing the buttonhole segment by segment.

Width
With the Slit Width function, you can set the width
of the slit between 0.1 and 2.0mm. If you make a
significant change to the slit width, you may also have
to adjust the stitch width and the stitch length.
TIP
Set a wide slit width for thick buttons on heavy
fabrics. To reinforce the buttonhole, increase the
stitch width and shorten the stitch length.
Set a narrow slit width for thin buttons on light
fabrics. To make the buttonhole lighter, reduce the
stitch width and increase the stitch length.
6.4 Tapering Stitches
Tapering stitches are decorative stitches that taper off
at the beginning and at the end. You can edit the tips
and the length of the tapering stitches. As soon as a
tapering stitch is loaded the Tapering Options
submenu appears in the editing menu.
