3-7-2. Ribbon Slant Elimination Adjustment
There are two kinds of ribbon slant elimination adjustment: for user and service personnel.
1) For User
• Adjustment with the Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adjustment Knob
• Cam Tension Base Adjust” position adjustment (Rear side)
2) For Service Personnel
• “Cam Tension Base Adjust” position adjustment (Front side)
• Ribbon guide position adjustment (a part of the “SA Head”.)

NOTE: A series of operation how to eliminate ribbon wrinkles is explained on later page.

(1) Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adjustment Knob (For user)
As you turn the Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adju
stment Knob, the knob side (right side) of
the “SA Ribbon Tension Shaft F” () moves back and forth with the eccentric mechanism.
(The left end of the “SA Ribbon Tension Shaft F” () is fixed.)
With this eccentric mechanism, ribbon slant can be adjusted.
Adjustment with the Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adjustment Knob is required in the
following cases.
• When ribbon slants and ribbon wrinkles are observed.
• When the “Ribbon Sensor Frame F” Block () is replaced or reassembled.
1. Set the Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adjustment Knob to the center of the scale.
2. Turn the Ribbon Left-Right Balance Adjustment Knob to eliminate ribbon wrinkles.
