78 Instructions for use Oxylog 3000 plus SW 1.n
O2 concentration by "O2 blending"
The FiO2 value can be set between 40 % and
100 % O
2 independently of the ventilation mode. To
generate the set inspiratory O2 concentration,
ambient air is drawn in using the injector principle.
However, the O
2 concentration which can be
realized depends on the mean airway pressure and
the inspiratory flow. The O
2 concentration can
never be lower than 40 %.
This is shown in the following schematic
illustrations:
O
2 concentration at a mean airway pressure of
5mbar
O
2 concentration at a mean airway pressure of
15 mbar
O
2 concentration which at a mean airway pressure
of 30 mbar
O
2 concentration at a mean airway pressure of
60 mbar
The O
2 concentration is a calculated value. It is
not measured by an internal O2 sensor.
If Oxylog 3000 plus is unable to reach the set
O2 concentration, the user is prompted to correct
the setting by the message Check settings: FiO2.
Correct setting by control FiO
2.
When the O
2 concentration has been set, the value
will be displayed after approximately 30 seconds.
When patients are breathing spontaneously, the
achievable O2 concentration will depend on the
profile of the inspiratory flow.
