Chapter 11: Sharing Pages & Packages Sharing Pages
SHARING PAGES
MightyMo/MiniMo users can share pages and other types of files with
one another. A page created by one user on a specific topic (for
example, a science class) might be very useful to another user with
just a small amount of customizing. You can import pages that were
created by another person into your own MightyMo/MiniMo. You can
also export pages that you’ve created to share with another person.
These tasks are described in this section.
The most efficient way to share information between
MightyMo/MiniMo devices is by creating a package. A package is a
collection of pages and all of their related files. Any supplemental
items (custom symbols, custom recordings and digital pictures) that
are used in a page will be included when that page is part of a
package. By using packages to share page information with other
MightyMo/MiniMo users, you can be sure that all of the required files
are included with the page(s) that you want to share. For more
information on creating packages, refer to Using Packages on
page 11-13.
Pages or packages can be shared through the use of secondary data
storage cards or removable USB storage devices.
!
Caution: When you export an individual page, symbols and symbol sets are
not included with the page. If a page from one MightyMo/MiniMo
device is exported to a second device, and the page uses symbols
that are not present on the second device, the second device will
display the page with “image not found” in place of the missing
symbols. Refer to Selecting the Symbol Set on page 7-3 and
Modifying Buttons on page 6-4 for more information on buttons
and symbol sets.
!
Caution: When you import a page from another MightyMo/MiniMo device, a
sound file for the new page may have the same name as a sound
file that already exists on your device. If this happens, you will be
asked if you want to overwrite the existing file with the file you are
importing. Answering Yes will import all of the sounds from the new
source, which could result in current sound files being incorrectly
replaced on buttons that feature that those sound files. Answering
No will not import the specific sound file in question, but you will be
prompted to answer again for any subsequent sound files with a
naming conflict.
