Creating Custom Recordings Chapter 8: Sound Management
The following sections describe how you can use the Play Sound...
menu to change the message or audio cue for a button, create a new
message or audio cue for a button or import a sound from a
removable USB storage device or secondary storage card.
Create a Recording with
the Modify Button
You can record up to 20 seconds of speech and assign it to a button
on a MightyMo/MiniMo communication page. A button message can
be played immediately or placed into the Message Window for later
playback.
To create a new recorded message for a button, follow these steps:
1. Select the green Modify button in the title bar. The button will turn
red when it is selected.
2. Select the button for which a message will be recorded. The Modify
Button menu will open.
3. Select the Record Message button. The Play Sound... menu will
appear.
2 Note: If the Modify button is not visible on the left side of the title bar,
refer to Define the Title Bar Contents on page 5-24 for step-by-
step instructions on displaying it.
2 Note: Professional recordings have been provided on the
MightyMo/MiniMo as a starting point for your communication
needs. These recordings may be an adult male, an adult female or
a gender-neutral child voice, depending on your preference when
you ordered the device. It is highly recommended that you create
your own customized recordings. See Selecting Preferred
Recordings on page 8-23 for more information.
2 Note: Before you create any custom recordings, it is recommended that
you check the Allow User to Name Recordings check box in the
Advanced Settings tab pane of the Interface Features menu. This
enables you to assign meaningful names to your recordings, so
you can quickly identify them. Refer to Naming Custom
Recordings on page 8-7 for step-by-step instructions.
