Chapter 12: Backing Up, Restoring & Upgrading Backing Up and Restoring User Data
You may now remove the secondary storage card from the
MightyMo/MiniMo device, if you wish. Be sure to keep the storage
card in a safe place.
Restore User Data If a problem occurs with the files in your MightyMo/MiniMo device, or
if you wish to return the device to a previous configuration, you can
restore the user data from a backup file.
When you restore user information to a DynaVox MightyMo/MiniMo
device, all of the files that are stored in the selected backup file are
copied to the device. This process will overwrite any user information
that is on the MightyMo/MiniMo with the information in the backup
file. Backing up regularly helps to ensure that you lose as little data
as possible if a problem occurs.
Restoring from a USB Storage Device
You may restore user data from a backup file stored on a USB
storage device.
To restore user data from a backup file on a USB storage device,
follow these steps:
1. Connect the USB storage device to the USB host port on the
MightyMo/MiniMo. See the illustration on page 2-5 for the port
locations.
2. Select the blue Setup button in the title bar. The Mo Setup menu
will open.
2 Note: Restoring will overwrite all of the user data that is currently on your
device and replace it with the user data stored in the backup file.
2 Note: If you plan to use a commercial USB storage device that has never
been used with your MightyMo/MiniMo device, save a copy of any
data on the USB storage device in a secure place and follow the
steps in Format a USB Storage Device on page 2-19. After that is
complete, copy the information back onto the USB storage device
and continue with this task. This does not apply to the USB storage
device that was shipped with your MightyMo/MiniMo device.
