Chapter 12: Backing Up, Restoring & Upgrading Backing Up and Restoring User Data
BACKING UP AND RESTORING USER DATA
Backing up the user data in your MightyMo/MiniMo creates a backup
(.bck) file, which you can store in a variety of locations. If your device
malfunctions or you wish to return it to a previous configuration, you
can restore the data from this backup file.
Back Up User Data When you back up your MightyMo/MiniMo device, you create a copy
of all your user data and combine it into one backup (.bck) file. A
backup file includes the following information from your
MightyMo/MiniMo device:
• userdata.dvo file
• communication pages
• IR commands
• custom symbols
• custom sound recordings
• custom images
• selection method settings
• User Preferences
It is extremely important to back up your MightyMo/MiniMo device
any time you add new files or make changes to your user information.
Backing up can help prevent a loss of information in the event of a
device failure. A backup file provides a spare copy of your
information, and it can be restored to your device any time it is
needed.
A backup file must be stored somewhere other than your device’s
main data storage card. You can successfully back up your user
information to either of these resources:
• A removable USB storage device
• A secondary storage card
