Chapter 2: Hardware Data Storage Cards
It may take a few minutes for the software to save all your user
information to the storage card. An hourglass icon will be
presented while the information is being saved. When the
hourglass icon disappears, the information is saved and you can
continue to use your device.
Install a Secondary
Storage Card
All MightyMo/MiniMo devices feature an empty card slot below the
device’s primary data storage card. This extra storage card slot
provides room for the installation of a secondary data storage card. A
secondary storage card would provide additional room for file storage
on your device. Secondary storage cards could also be used to share
information with computers and other MightyMo/MiniMo devices.
You can find CompactFlash cards available at most computer supply
stores. To install a secondary storage card, follow these steps:
1. Use the power button to turn the device off.
2. Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the dark plastic
panel on the front of your device (see Front of Device (MightyMo)
on page 2-7).
3. Remove the dark plastic panel.
4. Insert the new storage card into the empty card slot below the
primary storage card.
5. Replace the dark plastic panel and tighten the screws.
6. Turn your device back on.
2 Note: DynaVox MightyMo/MiniMo devices will not work with
CompactFlash data storage cards that are larger than 256 MB.
2 Note: A secondary storage card will appear as Storage Card2 in the left
viewport when you are sharing files. Refer to Chapter 11: Sharing
Pages & Packages or Chapter 12: Backing Up, Restoring &
Upgrading for instructions that show this naming convention.
