• For CIFS servers, the server address can be an exact subfolder that already exists,
or it can be a root directory, and the subfolder can be created on demand based
on the destination directory entry in step 8 below. A CIFS server requires a full path
to be specified here. This portion of the address must exist prior to connecting the
SMP351, and the SMP351 must have permission to read, write, and delete files in
that location.

7. Enter a port number in the FTP port, SFTP port, or CIFS port field, or use the Up
and Down arrows to change the value.
8. Enter the name of the target directory (subdirectory) for the recording files into the
Destination Directory field. This is the directory to which files are uploaded.
• For FTP and SFTP servers, this subdirectory must preexist connection to the
SMP351, and the SMP351 must have permission to read, write, and delete files in
this location.
• For CIFS servers, this directory can be one that was created prior to SMP351
connection, or it can be created on demand.
9. Enter the name of the primary operator of this SMP351 unit into the User name: field.
10. Enter the password for that user into the Password field. To display text instead of dots
for the password, select (check) the Show Password check box.
11. Enter a bit rate (in Kbps) in the Transfer Max Bitrate field, or use the Up and Down
arrows to change the value.
12. Click Save, or click Cancel to discard the changes.
13. If desired, click Test Connection Settings to make
sure the settings you entered in steps 3 through 12 work
correctly. The status of the connection to the server
and directory are indicated below the button. A working
connection is indicated by a check (tick) mark within a
green disk.
