COVERED AREAS
Considering a car moving towards an obstacle, it is defined as FIRST APPROACH DISTANCE (1) the
distance at which the system starts producing intermittent signals, and as SECOND APPROACH
DISTANCE (2) the distance at which the signal becomes continuous.
The first approach distance has a minimum value of 150 cm ± 10 cm from the end of the vehicle body
and over the entire width of the latter (excluding the wing mirrors).
The second approach distance starts 30 ± 5 cm from the end of the vehicle body and must cover its
entire width (excluding the wing mirrors).
