4.3 Shutting down the server blade
V CAUTION!
For further safety information, please refer to chapter "Important
information" on page 29.
Ê Inform the system administrator that the server blade will be shut down and
put offline.
Ê Terminate all applications.
Ê In case of Multipath I/O environments, please refer to section "Note on
server maintenance in a Multipath I/O environment" on page 70.

Ê Shut down the server blade by pressing the On / Off button (1). The power
indicator (2) turns off.
I If the system is running an ACPI-compliant operating system,
pressing the On / Off button will perform a graceful shutdown.
Ê Switch on the ID indicator on the front connector panel of the server as
described in section "Locating the defective server blade" on page 43.
