3. Depending on the number of channels used for
the connected flight simulator or for the Training
mode, in the DSC OUTPUT line of the BASE sub-
menu TX ctl (page 68), select one of the following
modes: PPM10, PPM16, PPM18 or PPM24. De-
fault setting: PPM10.
Notice
Given the numerous flight simulators on the mar-
ket, the contacts on the jack plug or DSC module
may have to be adapted by Graupner Service.
Attention
Exercise extreme caution when directly connect-
ing the transmitter to a desktop computer or lap-
top by a DSC cable and/or connecting a com-
puter interfaceto the simulator: the transmitter may be
destroyed byelectrostatic discharge. Only use this type
of connection if precautions are taken, such as wearing
a commercially available grounding armband while op-
erating the simulator. Graupner strongly recommends
only using wireless simulators.
DSCPort
The abbreviation DSC stands for "direct servo con-
trol." Traditionally, this function allowed users to con-
trol models by direct wired connection instead of by
wireless radio transmissions. DSC was useful for per-
forming model adjustments without any chance of in-
terfering with other models utilizing FM radio frequen-
cies. However, with the HoTT technology system, it is
no longer necessary to use a diagnostic cable in that
manner.
The standard two-pin DSC port on the back of the
mz-24 Pro HoTT transmitters is now used to function
as a TRAINER / PUPIL port and as an interface for
flight simulators or other external devices.
To ensure a correct DSC connection, observe the
following:
1. Perform adaptations in the menu appropriate for
the task. For example, to adapt to the transmitter
to a trainer system, refer to the FUNCTION sub-
menu Trainer (page 141).
2. Connect the other end of the connecting cable to
the desireddevice while observing all relevant op-
erating instructions.
Tip
Make sure that all the plugs are securely inserted in
the respective ports, and only use the provided plug-
in connections with a 2-pin jack plug on the DSC
side.
The DATA port is found under the cover on the back
side of the mz-24 Pro HoTT transmitter:
Use the DATA port for connecting a Smart Box (order
No. 33700) or for an external Bluetooth module (No.
S8351).
Further information on the Smart Box and the Blue-
tooth module can be found in the main Graupner FS
catalogue and on the Internet at www.graupnerusa.
