Status Severity Alarm
Drive power control fault Warning—no loss of drive power S1
Drive power control fault Fault—critical—loss of drive power S1
Troubleshooting subsystem recognition problems
Follow this procedure when the MediaDirector does not recognize the MediaStore subsystem.
1. Check that the SAS interface cables from the MediaStore to the MediaDirector 2252B/2251B are
fitted correctly.
2. Check that the LEDs on all installed Drive Carrier Modules are illuminated green. Note that the LEDs
on the Drive Carrier Module will not be lit during spin-up.
3. Check that all Drive Carrier Modules have been correctly installed.
4. Check the I/O module setup as follows:
a. Check that the I/O module has been correctly installed and all external links and cables are
securely fitted.
b. Check that all SAS Connector Activity LEDs on the I/O module are functioning properly.
c. Check the maximum cable length has not been exceeded.

Troubleshooting system faults
An audible alarm will sound when an internal fault is detected, such as failure of an internal
communications path.
1. Check for other amber LED indications on the PCMs.
If there is a PCM error present, there may be a communications problem with that PCM.
2. Remove and then re-install the PCM.
3. If the problem persists, replace the PCM.
Refer to the Spectrum MediaStore Component Replacement Guide for instructions on removing and
re-installing the PCM.
Power cooling module faults
The MediaStore provides different ways to indicate if there is a PCM issue.
Symptom Cause Action
