The CP8 blade manages all other
blades in the DC04 SAN Director.
There are two CP8 blades for redund-
ancy. This CP blade is also compat-
ible with the DC SAN Director.
CP8DC04 SAN Director CP blade
The CR4S-8 blade contains the ASICs
for switching between Director
blades. Every Director blade connects
to every core switch blade. There are
192 total ports for Director blades.
Each core switch blade connects to
192 backplane ports. Core switch
blades have additional front port
connectivity via ICL cables to connect
multiple chassis and backplane con-
nections. This core switch blade is
compatible only with the DC04 SAN
Director.

blade
A 16-port Director blade supporting
1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s port speeds.
This Director blade is compatible with
the 4/256 SAN Director, the DC
SAN Director, and the DC04 SAN
Director.
FC8-1616-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
A 32-port Director blade supporting
1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s port speeds.
This Director blade is compatible with
the 4/256 SAN Director, the DC
SAN Director, and the DC04 SAN
Director.
FC8-3232-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
A 48-port Director blade supporting
1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s port speeds.
This Director blade is compatible with
the 4/256 SAN Director, the DC
SAN Director, and the DC04 SAN
Director.
FC8-4848-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
A 6-port Director blade supporting
10-Gb/s port speed. Blade provides
10-Gb/s ISLs. This Director blade is
compatible with the 4/256 SAN Dir-
ector, the DC SAN Director, and the
DC04 SAN Director.
