CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the rear wheels, casters and tires should be checked periodi-
cally for cracks and wear and should be replaced.
5. Therearwheels,casters,andtiresshouldbecheckedperiodicallyforcracksandwear,
andshouldbereplacedbyaqualifiedtechnicianifdamaged.
6. Regularlycheckforloosespokesintherearwheels.Ifloose,havethemadjustedbya
qualifiedtechnician.
7. Periodicallycheckhandrimstoensuretheyaresecuredtotherearwheels.Ifloose,
havethemtightenedbyaqualifiedtechnician.
8. Periodicallyadjustwheellocksinastireswear.RefertoReplacing/Adjustingthe
WheelLocksonpage 37ofthismanual.
9. Periodicallycheckcasterwheelbearingstomakesuretheyarecleanandfreefrom
moisture.UseaTeflonlubricantifnecessary.
10. Checkupholsteryforsagging,ripsortears.
Maintenance/Safety Inspection Checklists
Initialadjustmentsshouldbemadetosuityourpersonalbodystructureneedsand
preference.Thereafterfollowthesemaintenanceprocedures:

hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.

Inspect/Adjust Weekly
❑ Ensurewheelchairrollsstraight(noexcessivedragorpulltooneside).
❑ Ensurequick/quad‐releaseaxleslockproperly.
❑ Inspectforbrokenspokes.
❑ Ensurewheel/forkassemblyhaspropertensionwhencasterisspun.Castershould
cometoagradualstop.
❑ Ensureforkstemis90°perpendiculartofloor.
❑ Inspecttires/castersforflatspotsandwear.
❑ Checkpneumatictiresforproperinflation(recommendedtirepressureislistedonthe
sidewallofthetire).
