WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.

Replacing/Adjusting the Wheel Locks
WARNING
If wheel locks do not hold the occupied wheelchair in place contact a qualified tech-
nician - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage38.
NOTE:Beforeadjustingorreplacingwheellocks,ensurethatthetiresareinflatedtothe
recommendedpsionthesidewallofthetire.
Replacing the Wheel Lock
1. Removethetwomountingscrewsandremovetheexistingwheellockfromthe
wheelchair.
2. Usingthetwomountingscrews,installthenewwheellock.Securelytighten.
Adjusting the Wheel Lock
1. Engagethewheellocks.
NOTE:Anywheellockadjustmentshouldembedthewheellockshoeatleast3/16‐inchintothe
pneumatictire(1/8‐inchforurethanewheels)whenengaged.
2. Ifnecessary,loosenthetwomountingscrewsthatsecurethewheellockstothe
wheelchairframeandadjustpositionofthewheel
lockuntilthe3/16‐inch(1/8‐inchfor
urethanewheels)measurementisobtainedforcorrectwheellockadjustment.
3. Securelytightenthetwomountingscrew(s).
4. Engagethewheellocksandpushagainstthewheelchairanddetermineifthewheel
locksengagethewheellocksenoughtoholdthewheelchair.
5. Repeattheaboveproceduresuntilthewheellocksholdthewheelchair.
