Starting and driving
Warning

incompletely burned fuel may enter
and damage the catalytic converter.
● Do not operate the button-type
START switch during driving.
Otherwise, the steering wheel will
lock and may cause the driver to
lose control of the vehicle, which
may cause serious vehicle damage or
personal injury.
● Do not leave the ignition switch in
the "ACC" or "ON" position for a
long time to prevent the battery from
running out.
Switching of ignition switch position
When the brake pedal is not depressed (AT
model), press the START switch, and its
position will change as follows:
press it once to switch it to "ACC" position,
press it twice to switch it to "ON" position,
press it three times to switch it to "OFF"
position and press it four times to switch it
back to "ACC" position.
The START switch will switch from "OFF"
position to "LOCK" position while the
door is opening or closing.
The functions of each position of the
ignition switch are as follows:

Before starting the engine, make sure to
carry the key with you and operate as
follows:

shift in "P" position.
