LLDPD System Log Messages
This chapter describes messages with the LLDPD prefix. They are generated by the link
layer discovery protocol process (lldpd) which is used by EX-series switches to learn and
distribute device information on network links. The information allows the switch to
quickly identify a variety of devices, including IP telephones, resulting in a LAN that
interoperates smoothly and efficiently.
LLDPD_SYSTEM
System Log Message reason: error-message
Description A system call made by the Link Layer Discovery Protocol process (LLDPD) failed.
Type Error: An error occurred
Severity error
Facility LOG_KERN
Cause It is possible that the kernel lacked the resources to fulfill the request. LLDPD will recover.
