Checking Turbocharger
• The turbocharger component parts are not adapted. When
the part is defective, replace the turbocharger as an
assembly.
• Exhaust gas leak, carbon or engine oil leak are found,
replace the turbocharger with a new one.
[Turbine Side]
1. Check the turbine housing, exhaust gas or engine oil leak from
the turbine shaft seal ring are found, replace the turbocharger as
an assembly.
2. If any exhaust gas leak is found, retighten the bolts.
[Compressor Side]
1. Check the inlet hose to see if there is no air leak.
2. Check for loosen connections or cracks in the suction side of the
inlet hose.
3. If any air leak is found, tighten or change the clamp / or the inlet
hose.
[Compressor Impeller]
1. Push and pull the turbine end nut and check radiator clearance
the thrust clearance.
2. If the clearance is found, change the turbocharger.
[Waste Gate Valve]
1. Check the movement of the waste gate valve rod.
2. If the movement of the rod is tight, change the turbocharger.
