b Adjust the margins if necessary:
Diagnostics menu > REGISTRATION
Does the error remain?
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.

a Check the media source.
b If the media is from tray 1, go to step 3.
If the media is from the MPF, go to step 5.
Step 3
Make sure the pick roller tires are free of debris. Check for wear or
damage.
Are they free of wear or damage?
Go to step 4. Replace the pick roller.

Step 4
Check the lift plate on the media tray for damage.
Is it free of damage?
Go to step 11. Replace the media tray.
Step 5
Make sure the MPF pick roller and separator pad are free of debris. Check
for wear or damage.
Are they free of wear or damage?
Go to step 6. Replace the MPF pick
roller/separator pad.

Perform the media skew adjustment. See “Media aligner roller
