4. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
5. Engage the header safety props.
6. Engage the reel safety props. For instructions, refer to Engaging Reel Safety Props, page 35.
7. Check the deck height before installing the drapers. For instructions, refer to 5.7.5 Adjusting Deck Height, page 181.


8. Apply talc, baby powder, or talc/graphite lubricant mix to
the underside of the draper guides and to the draper
surface that forms the seal with the cutterbar.
9. Insert the draper into the deck at the outboard end under
the rollers. Pull the draper into the deck while feeding it at
the end.
10. Feed in the draper until it can be wrapped around the drive
roller.
11. Insert the opposite end of the draper into the deck over the
rollers. Pull the draper fully into the deck.


12. Loosen mounting bolts (B) on rear deck deflector (A) (this
may help with draper installation).


13. Attach the ends of the draper with tube connectors (B),
screws (A) (with the heads facing the center opening),
and nuts.
14. Adjust the draper tension. For instructions, refer to 5.7.3
Checking and Adjusting Draper Tension, page 177.
