GradeGripperprovidesanti-rollbackassistanceduringthetransitionfromastopped
positiontostartingonagrade.Thebrakesystemmaintainspressureinthebrakechambers
forapredenedperiodoftimeaftertheservicebrakepedalisreleased,whichallowsthe
drivertimetomovetheirfootfromthebrakepedaltotheacceleratorpedal.
DANGER
GradeGripperisonlyintendedto
temporarilyholdthevehicleonagrade
beforethevehicleisputintomotion.The
vehiclebrakemustbeapplied,independent
ofGradeGripper,toholdthevehicleon
agradeforanextendedperiodoftime.
Failuretofollowthisinstructioncanresult
inlossofvehiclecontrolandserious
personalinjuryordeath.
Whenavailable,GradeGripperisenabledatkey-on.Pressingadash-mountedswitchwill
temporarilydisableGradeGripper.TheGradeGripperDisabledscreendisplaysinthe
Co-Pilot®.GradeGripperisre-enabledbypressingtheswitchagain,orwhenvehiclespeed
exceeds20Km/h(12mph).Akeyoff-oncyclealsore-enablesGradeGripper.IfaGrade
Gripperfaultoccurs,theGradeGripperDisabledscreenintheCo-Pilot®displaysandthe
featureispermanentlyunavailableuntilthefaultisrepaired.
