ENGINEOILLEVELCHECK
Astheoperatorofthisvehicle,itisimportantforyoutoperformthedailyinspections
necessarytokeepyourtruckingoodshape.Maintainingtheproperoillevelinyourengine
crankcasecannotbeoveremphasized.
Beforecheckingtheoil,remembertheseimportantpoints:
•Measurementoftheoillevelmustbetakenonlevelground.
•ThebesttimetocheckoilleveliswhiletheengineisCOLD(priortostartingatthe
beginningoftheworkday,orafterthevehiclehassatapproximately2hours).Atnormal
operatingtemperature(engineoiltemperatureabove79.4°C[175°F]),oillevelcanbe
checked15minutesaftershutdown.
CAUTION
Failuretowaitasufcientamountoftime
(2hoursifengineoiltemperatureisbelow
79.4°C[175°F])or15minutesifoil
temperatureisabove79.4°C[175°F])will
resultinaninaccuratedipstickreading.
•ThelevelmustbeclosetotheFULLline(atleastbetweentheLOWandFULLlines)on
thedipstick,butmustNOTexceedtheFULLline(refertoillustrationbelow).
