EngagingthePowerDividerLockout
Normally,thePowerDividerswitchisintheOUT(disengaged)position.Inpoortraction
conditions,itmaybenecessarytoprovidepositivethrough-drivetobothaxlesbyipping
theswitchtothelocked(engaged)position.
1Pushswitchtoengage.
2Momentarilyreleasetheacceleratorpedaltoallowtheshifttotakeplace,thendrive
throughtheslipperyarea.
Note:Alockoutindicatorlampwillremainlitaslongasthelockoutisengaged.Thisis
toremindthedrivertoreleasethelockoutassoonasnormaltractionisregained.
3Whendrivingconditionspermit,unlockthepowerdividerbymovingthePowerDivider
switchbacktotheOUT(disengaged)position.Thenreleasetheacceleratorpedal
momentarily(toshiftoutofthelockedposition)anddriveasusual.
CAUTION
DoNOT(underanycircumstances)engage
ordisengagethelockoutwhilethedrive
wheelsareactuallyslippingorspinning;
clashingbetweenthelockoutslidingclutch
andtheoutercammayresult.
