AutomaticTractionControl(ATC)(IfEquipped)
AutomaticTractionControl(A TC)providesimprovedtractiononslipperysurfacesby
reducingwheelspin.Thesystemoperatesautomaticallyasfollows:
•Ifadrivewheelstartstospin,A TCappliesairpressuretothebrakeofthespinning
wheel.Doingthistransfersenginetorquetothewheelsthathavebettertraction.
•Ifalldrivewheelsarespinning,A TClimitsenginetorquewhich,inturn,reduceswheel
spintoprovideimprovedtraction.
WhenA TCautomaticallybecomesactive,theA TCindicatorlampturnsontoalertthe
operator.Thelampturnsoffwhenthewheel(s)stopsspinning.
HeavyMud/SnowFunction(IfEquipped)
ATCmayalsoincludeaheavymud/snowfunctionwhichallowstheoperatortoactivate
ATCwhenadditionaltractionisneeded.ThisfunctionisactivatedwiththeATCmode
switchwhichislocatedonthedashboard.Theheavymud/snowfunctionincreasesavailable
tractionbyincreasingpermissiblewheelspin.
Whentheoperatorselectstheheavymud/snowfunction,theATCindicatorlampblinks
continuously.TheA TClampstopsblinkingwhentheATCmodeswitchisturnedoff.

(GCM)foragivenmodelmayvaryduetothetyres,wheels/rims,suspensions,axlesand/or
frameofaspecicvehicle.Forsafetyanddurabilityreasons,donotexceedtheGVMand
GCM’slistedonyourvehicle’sCerticationLabel.
