CAUTION

operatethevehiclewiththesuspension
airbagsdeated.Alwaysreinatethe
suspensionairbagsaftercouplingor
uncouplingatrailer.
UNCOUPLINGATRAILER
1Parkthetractor/trailercombinationonalevelsurface.Makesuretheparkingsurfacewill
supporttheweightofthetrailer,andmakesurethatthetractorislinedupstraightwith
thetrailer.Pullingoutfromunderatraileratananglemaydamagethelandinggear.
2Pullthetrailerairsupplyvalve(redoctagonalknob)outtoapplythetrailerparking
brakes.
3Backthetractorslightlytoeasepressureonthefthwheeljaws.Applythetractor
parkingbrakeswhilestillbackingagainstthekingpinsothecombinationwillbeheld
withpressureoffthefthwheeljaws.
4Blockthetrailerwheelstopreventthetrailerfrommoving.
5Lowerthetrailerlandinggearuntilthegearmakesrmcontactwiththeground.
6Disconnectthegladhandsandthetrailerelectricalconnector.Connectthegladhandsto
thedummycouplersatthebackofthetractorandinstallthetrailerelectricalconnector
intothereceptacleprovidedatthebackofthecab.
CAUTION
Makesurethetrailerairlinesandelectrical
cordareproperlysuspendedsotheywill
notbecometangledordamagedwhilethe
tractorisbeingdriven.
WARNING
Keeplegsandfeetclearofthetractor
rearwheelstoavoidseriousinjuryshould
thevehiclemovewhenthefthwheelis
unlocked.
