ParkingBrakeOperation
Theparkingbrakescanbeappliedandreleasedfromthecab,usingthehand-operated
push/pullcontrolvalvewiththeyellowdiamondknob.
Intheeventofasignicantairpressurelossinboththeairbrakesystems,thespringbrake
airchamberswillbeautomaticallyexhausted(applyingthebrakes).Theparkingbrakeswill
remainapplieduntilenoughpressureisavailabletorecompressthesprings.

•NEVERusethetractorparkingbrake
systemalone.
•ALW A YSusethetractorandtrailer
parkingbrakesystemstogether.
•ALWAYSapplytheparkingbrakeswhen
parkingandmakesuretheparkingbrakes
areholdingthevehiclefrommovingbefore
leavingthedriver’sseat.
•Whenparkingonagrade,usewheel
chocksundertherearwheelsorturnthe
frontwheelstothecurb.Donotleave
dieselenginevehiclesingear;ifthevehicle
shouldmove,theenginemaystartbyheat
ofcompression.
•Checkbrakeadjustmentfrequentlytobe
surethatthebrakeswilllockandholdthe
vehiclewhenparked.
•Donotusetheparkingbraketoslowor
stopthevehiclewheninmotion,exceptin
anemergency.
•Donotusehandcontrolvalveforparking.
