Toensuremanyyearsofreliable,trouble-freeoperation,thefollowingbreak-inprocedures
arerecommended:
Note:Oilchange,lterchangeandchassislubricationarerequiredatthe5000kmvehicle
break-ininterval.
RefertothepreventivemaintenanceschedulesoutlinedintheMaintenanceandLubrication
Manualforrecommendedlubricationchangeintervalsforthefollowingitems:
•Gearoils(transmission,rearaxlecarrier[s],frontdriveaxlecarrier,transfercase,
ywheelPTO)
•Engineoil
•Oillters
•Fuellters
Note:Itisimportantthatcomponentsbelledwithlubricantsmeetingthespecicationsas
givenintheMaintenanceandLubricationManual.
Note:Whencheckingoillevels,thevehiclemustbeparkedonlevelground,andtheunits
atnormaloperatingtemperature.Componentsmustbelledtothecorrectlevel.DO

Trucks,Forinformationconcerningoilandoillterchangeintervalsforvendorcomponents,
refertothespecicvendorcomponentserviceliterature.
DuringtheFirst5000Kilometers(3000Miles)
•Aftertherst200km(125miles),retorquethewheelnutsusinganaccuratelycalibrated
torquewrench.Recheckthistorqueagainafter800km(500miles).
•Checkoilandcoolantlevelsfrequently
•Checkbrakeandclutchadjustmentsperrecommendedmaintenanceschedule,andadjust
asneeded.
•Observetheinstrumentsoften,andshutdowntheengineattherstsignofanyabnormal
readings.
•Reportallleaks,loosefasteners,unusualnoises,etc.,totheservicerepresentativeatthe
nearestMACKdealershipsotheycanbecheckedandcorrected.
•Checkthespringcliptorque(U-bolts).
•ChecktheU-bolttorqueontheMACKorHendricksonairsuspensionattheendof
therst1600km(1000miles).
