CruiseControlwiththeMACKPowerLeash™Engine
Brake
WhentheMACKPowerLeash™EngineBrakeisenabledatthesametimeyourV-MAC®
cruisecontrolisinuse,theenginebrakeautomaticallyactivateswhennecessarytoslowthe
vehicletothecruisesetpointspeed.Youcanselectoneoftwopossibleoptions:
Theenginebrakeisactivated2mphabovethecruisesetpoint.
Theenginebrakeisactivatedassoonascruisecontrolcommandsfuelingtozero(vehicle
hasjustreachedcruisesetpointandfuelhasbeenturnedoff).
Therstoptionisthemorepopularchoiceforhighwayuseandisthedefaultmode.Consult
yourV-MAC®IVV ehicleManagementandControlwithCo-Pilot®DisplayOperator’s
Guideformoreinformationaboutthisoption.Y ourlocalMACKdealercanchangethe
currentselection.
Theenginebrake’sabilitytocontrolmaximumvehiclespeedislimitedtotheselected
retardingpoweroftheenginebrake.Iftheenginebrakedash-mountedcontrolswitchisset
totheLOWposition,onlyhalfoftheavailablebrakingpowerisused.Ifthedash-mounted
controlswitchissettotheHIGHposition,thecruisecontrolinvokesfullenginebrakepower.
Note:Deactivatingthecruisecontrolfunctiondoesnotdisabletheenginebrake.
TheMACKPowerLeash™EngineBrakemaybeactivatedordeactivatedbyothervehicle
systemssuchasABSandHeadwaycontrolsystems.Refertotheliteratureconcerning
thesesystemsforadditionalinformation.
