ABSOperation
WhenoperatinganABS-equippedvehicle,thefollowingguidelinesshouldbeused.
•Applythebrakesasnormal.Iftheanti-lockbrakesystembeginstofunction,maintain
brakepressure.DoNOTreleasethebrakes.
•Avoidrapidlypumpingthebrakes.Theanti-lockbrakesystemautomaticallyappliesand
releasesthebrakesuptovetimespersecond.
•Whentowingatrailer,watchthetrailerthroughthemirrors.Adjustbrakeapplication
asnecessarytokeepthecombinationinastraightline.Makesurethetrailerfollows
thetractorproperly.
•AnambertrailerABSlampontheinstrumentpanelwillilluminateforseveralsecondsat
start-upduringaninitialfunctioncheck.WhenatrailerABSfaultoccurs,thelampwill
remainilluminateduntilthefaultiscleared.Ifthereisalossofcommunicationbetween
