ClutchBrakeOperation
Theclutchbrakeisdesignedtostoptherotationofthetransmissionsinputshaftwhilethe
truckisstandingstill.Thismakesshiftingintorstorreversegearseasier.Inadvertentuse
oftheclutchbrakewillmakeshiftingfromageardifcult(i.e.,shiftingfromreversewith
theclutchbrakeappliedandthevehicleisstationary).

1Withthevehiclestandingstill,applytheclutchbrakebypushingtheclutchpedalallthe
waytotheoor;theclutchbrakeisappliedwhentheclutchpedalisfullydepressed(the
lastoneinchoftravelpastnormalpedaltravel).
Note:Whentheclutchisdisengaged,aslightbutdeniteresistancetoclutchpedal
downwardtravelwillbefeltinthelastoneinch.
2Shiftthetransmissionintorstorreversegear,engagetheclutchandaccelerate.The
clutchbrakeisonlytobeusedwhenthevehicleisstoppedandisshiftedintorstor
reversegears.Itisnotdesignedtobeusedasanupshiftingaid.
CAUTION
Clutchbrakedamagemayresultifused
whilethevehicleisinmotion.Theclutch
brakemustNOTbeusedwhenmakinga
downshiftoranupshift.
