Morgana DocuMaster MFC - Service Manual 63
4. Service Procedures - Machine Adjustments and Calibration
The bin address procedure forces the CPU to write an identification address to each of
the feed bin control PCBs. When a PCB has been addressed it will keep that address,
even if it is removed and installed on a different feed bin.
Step Action Information
1 Turn on the MFC.
2 Select the
SERVICE access level. (See Section 4.5.23).
3 Open the
SERVICE OPTIONS page. Touch the SERVICE OPTIONS tab.
4 Touch the
BIN ADDRESSING button. The MFC will prepare to write to the
bin control PCBs. When it is ready
BIN 1 will be displayed on the BIN
ADDRESSING button.
5 Press the red button on the feed
bin control switch on
feed bin 1.
BIN 2 will be displayed on the BIN
ADDRESSING button.
6 Press the red button on the feed
bin control switch on
feed bin 2.
Continue this process until you have
addressed all the feed bins.
7 Touch the
BIN ADDRESSING button
and wait for it to display
DONE.
8 Return to the
BASIC page and turn
the MFC off and on.
Note: If a
bin or bins fail to address, turn off the MFC and start
the address procedure again.
4.5.6 Initialise the Feed Bin Control PCBs
Each of the feed bin control PCBs, and the gathering area base control PCB, have IC
control chip that uses a basic operating f/w to function. When you initialise the bins, the
GUI CPU checks that the f/w versions of the ICs are up-to-date and correctly
configured. The control s/w will automatically update the f/w if necessary.
Step Action Information
1 Set the main input switch to the ON
(I) position.
2 Select the
SERVICE access level. (See Section 4.5.23.1).
3 Open the
SERVICE OPTIONS page. Touch the SERVICE OPTIONS tab.
4 Touch the
INITIALISE BINS button. The MFC will automatically do a
check to make sure if initialisation is
necessary.
5 Wait until the
INITIALISE BINS button
indicates NONE or DONE.
• NONE shows that no initialisation
was necessary.
• DONE shows that the MFC has
initialised the bins and is
finished.
6 Return to the
BASIC page and turn
the MFC off and on.
