Warning: Use extreme caution not to touch any electrical or mechanical components
when you operate the MFC with the
side covers removed.
Step Action Information
1 Push in the emergency stop
switch, then turn it clockwise to
release it.
This action moves the crease
mechanism to t.d.c.
2 Remove the crease blade-set from
the creaser module.
(See the MFC User Operating
Instructions Manual).
3 Set the crease adjuster bolts so
that they are
central.
(See Figure 4.48).
• Loosen the locking screws if
necessary.
4 Replace the crease blade-set and
test the
crease blade-set
alignment.
(See Section 4.5.14.1).
If the alignment is incorrect, move to
Step 5.
5 Set the blade-set to t.d.c. (See Step 1.)
6 Set the crease adjuster bolts on
the crease
matrix.matrix
• Turn the adjuster bolt clockwise
to move the matrix down.
• Turn the adjuster bolt
counterclockwise to move the
matrix up.
7 Repeat the alignment test and
adjustment
procedure until you
have got an even crease.
4.5.15 Adjust the DynaTilt Motor Gear Play
It is important and necessary that the play between the DynaTilt motor gear and the
quadrant assembly is set correctly.
If there no play between the gear and quadrant:
• The DynaTilt mechanism can stall
• The DynaTilt sheet skew correction may not be accurate.
If there is too much play between the gears:
• The precision of the skew correction will decrease.
