Troubleshooting worksheet data transfer
The following are errors that you might encounter when workbook information transfers to the
Norstar system.
CAP/KIM is not programmed
Any CAP/KIM must be physically connected to the Norstar system for the programming to be
successful.
There is an overflow of data during an Norstar system acquisition
When programming is acquired from the Norstar system, there may be more data from the Norstar
system than there is room in the workbook. If this occurs, the excess data will appear in the Errors
box.
Field data transfer error
When you attempt to transfer programming to the Norstar system, you receive an error
message similar to: 515 Routes & Dest codes $B$4 Route 000 cannot be modified or
removed.
If you acquire Routes & Dest codes programming from an Norstar system, the programming
includes Route 000. When you use the same workbook to program an Norstar system, the
programming for Route 000 is transferred as well, but Route 000 cannot be modified. You should
ignore the error message sent by the Norstar system.
User preference buttons do not match
The User Preferences button settings you see in the workbook do not match the button
settings as they are found in the Norstar system programming.
When you use the Off-Line Programming tool and workbook to make changes which affect the
arrangement of buttons on a set in User Preferences, the workbook may not update the button
assignments for a DN the same way as the Norstar system. For example, changes to line
assignments, Answer DNs, or Incoming Line Groups affect which buttons are available for storing
telephone numbers or feature codes. To ensure your workbook has accurate User Preferences
settings, acquire the User Preferences settings from the Norstar system after you have transferred
or added programming.
ICS Description A description of the Norstar system that uses this workbook.
ICS Map Filename The map name that the workbook uses.
