Job A scheduled operation, such as a Backup or Restore of a Norstar system.
Job Queue A screen that displays a list of scheduled jobs waiting to be completed. Access this
screen to determine the status of the scheduled jobs.
M7310 telephone The Norstar model M7310 telephone that has a two-line display and can be used
to program Norstar system features. This telephone is one of the telephone emulat

ed in the Remote Set Tool.
M7324 telephone The Norstar model M7324 telephone that has a two-line display and can be used
to program Norstar system features. This telephone is one of the telephone emulat

Mandatory field A field that must contain valid data.
Menu A list of actions you can choose from.
Modem A device used by the PC to communicate with a Norstar system. It converts a dig-
ital data communications signal into an analog signal that can be transmitted over
a standard telephone line.
Navigation Movement between fields or screens in ICSRT.
Object A button or list item that you can manipulate.
Optional field A field that does not need to contain data.
Password A series of characters that allow access to the RAD and the DeBug tool.
Programming A process of setting up and selecting features on a Norstar system.
Remote Access
Device (RAD)
A Norstar peripheral device which provides ICS Remote Tools access to a Norstar
system.
Remote site A Norstar system that is not located in the same area as the computer running
ICSRT.
Scheduler Determines when a Backup or Restore job should be completed.
Software A set of instructions known as a program or application. Programs form the basis
of Norstar ICS Remote tools and a Norstar system.
Software version Refers to the type of software that a Norstar ICS uses to operate, and the vintage
of the software.
System A Norstar ICS.
System ID A series of digits that identify a Norstar system.
Time Difference The time zone difference between a remote Norstar system and the local time at
the computer that is running ICSRT.
Valid option Data that is appropriate for a specific field.
