6.4 Configuring Communications
The Magna-Mike 8600 features a RS-232 and a USB port allowing you to connect the
instrument to a computer. When connected to a computer, the Magna-Mike 8600 can
send and receive data, or can be remotely controlled by the computer. A FTP (file
transfer protocol) document and a remote command document are available upon
request.
The instrument is set to use USB communication by default. You can select which type
of communication you wish to use along with other communication parameters.
To configure the communication parameters
1. In the measurement screen, press [SET UP], and then select COMMUNICATION
to display the COMMUNICATIONS SETUP screen (see Figure 6-4 on page 108).
